Agricultural Building Demolition & Concrete Crushing in Suffolk

Historical project experience | Suffolk | 2004

This earlier Suffolk project involved the demolition of six derelict former agricultural buildings, removal of asbestos-containing roof sheeting and recovery of suitable demolition material for reuse during the construction phase.

Demolition and site clearance

The works included removal of the asbestos-containing roof sheeting, full demolition of all six buildings, and breaking out the concrete slabs and foundations.

Bucket crushing in wet ground conditions

The ground was very wet, so a bucket crusher attached to a 30-tonne excavator was selected to crush suitable recovered material on site.

Reusable material ready for construction

The crushed material was gathered into a neat stockpile, ready for reuse in the construction phase. The photographs below show the crushing operation, material handling and the finished stockpile.
