Norfolk Barn Asbestos Removal & Partial Demolition

Agricultural project | Norfolk | 2026

AMP Contractors Ltd carried out asbestos cement sheeting removal, partial steel-frame demolition and concrete crushing at a 1,000 m² agricultural barn in Norfolk. The project combined removal works with careful retention of the remaining frame for the owner’s next stage of refurbishment.

Roof and side sheeting removal

Our scope included removing all corrugated cement-bonded asbestos-containing roof and side-profile sheeting from the barn. This exposed the steel structure ready for the planned alterations and subsequent recladding works.

Partial demolition with the remaining frame retained

We demolished a 150 m² section of the steel frame. The remaining structure was retained undamaged, ready for the follow-on contractor to carry out recladding. Protecting the part of the building that the owner wanted to keep was a key requirement throughout the project.

Concrete breakout, crushing and reuse

We also broke out several external concrete slabs and a 200 m² internal concrete slab, then crushed the recovered concrete. The crushed material remained on site for reuse by the owner, including for trackways and other suitable applications.

Reusing the material on site gave the owner substantial savings on buying replacement material and made practical use of concrete recovered during the works.

Ready for the next contractor

The completed works left the retained barn frame ready for recladding, with crushed material available on site for the owner’s future use.
